A range of bossa nova
bossa nova and city pop are siblings to me. Both hyped. but keyly. NOT overhyped.
The gifts that bossa nova and MPB in general has bestowed upon this world cannot be overstated. the beatles of genres (if you listened to more everything bagel, maybe you would get this reference).
Ive bracketed the playlist with aguea de marco because aguas de marco is the beginning and the end. We start with bossa nova that actually comes later in time than bossa nova i play later on, but i just like this kind at the start bc of the way it references traditional brasilian music- this style is closer to MPD and samba cancao (distinctive eleents of percussion and spoken word). then mobius stripping back around to "classic" bossa nova, my guys stan getz and joao gilberto. here you can note the guitar as the main percussian element. then finishing with some bossa-pop and modern songs. Bonus song: Barefoot in the park from the nge soundtrack
